This past weekend, the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department, Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management, and the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office came together for a comprehensive multi-agency training exercise. The training, held in collaboration with multiple local tow companies, focused on enhancing skills in various emergency response scenarios, including vehicle extrication on electric and hybrid vehicles, handling vehicle rollovers, and responding to multi-vehicle pile-ups, among other critical safety procedures.
A special thank you goes to Michael’s Towing for providing two electric vehicles and assisting with lunch, as well as Above Towing and Thornburg Shell for supplying refreshments. Chick-fil-A also contributed to the event by providing additional lunch, and Lew’s Auto Salvage and T&A Towing generously supplied a total of eight vehicles for use in the training exercises.
This collaborative effort was an invaluable opportunity for first responders to work closely with local businesses and enhance their preparedness in handling complex emergency situations. Together, we are committed to improving service and safety for the citizens and visitors of Spotsylvania County.
