WHO CAN BECOME A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER?
Anyone with a desire to serve their community can become a volunteer firefighter. No prior experience in emergency services is required. We provide all the necessary training once you join the department.

WHAT WILL I DO AS A VOLUNTEER IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT?
Your responsibilities as a volunteer depend on your training, certifications, and the department’s needs. You will receive comprehensive training at no cost to you. Some of the roles you may take on include:
- Fire Suppression
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Response
- Search and Rescue Operations
- Traffic Incident Management (TIM) and Highway Safety
- Public Information and Education

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER?
The minimum age to join as a junior volunteer firefighter is 16.
CAN I SUPPORT MY LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT WITHOUT BECOMING A FIRST RESPONDER?
