Today is the day!!
Back in February a young man by the name of Gavin Richards was the first person to ever be awarded The Norman Brooks Memorial Scholarship. This young man has dedicated a lot of his spare time to helping around Fire Company 4 and at many of Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department events. He has shown quite an interest in the fire service. He spoke with Firefighter Travis Prien about this camp he found online in West Virginia that peaked his interest. The Norman Brooks Memorial Fund with the help Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Dept sent Gavin to this camp on a Scholarship.
Special shout out to Gus Coutscoudis whom spent his day traveling to West Virginia to drop Gavin off at camp. Thank you very much and safe travels home this evening.
On behalf of The Norman Brooks Memorial Fund we wish Gavin Richards great success this week and hopes that he enjoys himself all while learning this week. Enjoy and we will see you on Graduation Day.
We hope to make this an annual tradition so if you have a child or know a child between the ages of 14-17 years old. Please reach out to us and find out how you can apply for the scholarship.
