MVA With Entrapment In Caroline

Shortly before shift change at 18:00 units from Company 8 were dispatched to assist Caroline County with a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival crew found one vehicle off the roadway into a tree that had appeared to have rolled several times. Structure Fire Schooler Court

Battalion Chief Jonathan Bageant, March 22

Units were dispatched at 11:14 for a reported residential structure fire. The first unit arrived within four minutes of receiving the call at 11:18. They reported a two story residential structure with fire through the roof. Handlines were pulled and an exterior attack was made to knock the fire down. MVA On Stanfield Road

At 0556 this morning units were alerted for an auto accident on Stanfield Rd. It was reported to be a vehicle ripped in half. Upon their arrival they found a single vehicle ripped in half. There were no occupants in or around the vehicle and crews checked the area with the thermal imaging camera to make sure the area was clear. The Sheriff's Office is investigating.... Tractor Trailer Fire On I95

On Sunday crews were dispatched for a possible Tractor Trailer brake fire on I95 near the 118 northbound mile marker. When crews arrived on the scene they found one tractor trailer with fire from the brakes that had extended into the trailer cargo. SVFD Celebrates New Year With Annual Awards Ceremony

On Saturday January 10th the members of Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department held their annual officer installation and awards banquet. The night was kicked off by a video presentation showing the accomplishments of the previous year. Then a meal was served by Company 1 Member Mike Pifer and his company Pifer Brothers BBQ. Company 4 Welcomes Home New Pumper

The last of Spotsylvania County new pumpers was welcomed home on Sunday November 16th. Company 4 will be placing its 2014 Rosenbauer inservice soon to replace the 2001 E-One. The Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Departement as well as members of Spotsylvania Fire Rescue and Energency Managment invited members of the community to the housing ceremony and fire department traditional wet down. ... Car Fire On Interstate 95

On Wednesday night while crews were participating in department training for the arrival of a new fire truck, they where dispatch to a reported vehicle fire on Interstate 95. Crews from companies 1 & 8 responded to the incident. Upon arrival they found one pickup truck on the right shoulder on fire. Chief Oesterhelds Tombstone

A couple members of Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department joined Chief Oesterheld's family as they gathered to witness the installation of his tombstone. Chief's family wanted to be sure both of his families were incorporated into the final chapter that took place at his resting place.
